Our Work
Canva: Scaling app development with AI, without compromising quality
As the number and complexity of integrations within Canva's ecosystem grew, the team needed to accelerate delivery without sacrificing the governance, security, and testing standards the platform demanded.
Entelect develops integrations and in-app applets within Canva's ecosystem – including connectors for platforms such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, HubSpot, and the World Bank. As the volume and complexity of these integrations increased, development timelines were under pressure. The challenge was to shorten delivery cycles while maintaining strong governance, rigorous testing standards, and consistent documentation practices across every integration.
Entelect embedded Claude Code into the Software Development Lifecycle to support AI-assisted workflows across the full delivery process. Claude Code was used to rapidly build proof-of-concept solutions and validate integrations before stakeholder approval – reducing rework by catching issues earlier. Claude Code also supported automated test generation and code reviews.
Development time cut in half: AI-assisted workflows cut development time in half, with recent applets completed in roughly half the original estimated timeframe without compromising on quality or governance.
Near 100% test coverage: Automated test generation and earlier validation through AI-assisted reviews improved code coverage to near 100%, increasing release confidence across the team.
Stronger documentation and consistency: Structured PRD templates and automated user story generation improved documentation quality and delivery consistency – making every integration easier to review, audit, and maintain.
