Development Managers play a critical role in shaping the success of both our people and our customers. By supporting teams, strengthening delivery environments, and building trusted customer relationships, you help create the conditions for long-term success.
Your focus extends beyond the day-to-day delivery of individual teams to the broader customer environment. Working closely with the teams you lead, customers, and senior stakeholders, you help shape delivery strategy, long-term roadmaps, resource planning, budgeting, and customer growth initiatives. By balancing people, delivery, commercial, and customer objectives, you help ensure that teams can do their best work, customers achieve their goals, and Entelect continues to grow as a trusted technology partner.

You’ll oversee delivery across multiple teams, while coaching Team Leads and team members, building trusted customer relationships, and helping grow Entelect’s presence within customer environments. Acting as the bridge between strategic direction and day-to-day delivery, you create clarity, remove obstacles, and ensure teams have the support they need to succeed. Your success is measured by the success of the teams, and customer projects you support.
The Specifics
- Leadership sits at the heart of the Development Manager role. You will typically support multiple teams and Team Leads, helping to shape the culture and create environments where people can thrive. You will mentor and coach Team Leads, help them navigate delivery challenges, strengthen their leadership capabilities, and build high-performing teams. You will also play a key role in hiring, developing, and retaining exceptional talent across the teams you support
- You are accountable for delivery across the projects you support. Managing risks, resolving escalations, aligning priorities, and maintaining high standards of quality all fall on you. You ensure that teams have the clarity, support, and direction needed to consistently deliver successful outcomes
- You work closely with customer stakeholders to understand business objectives, manage expectations, communicate progress, and address risks before they become issues. By consistently delivering value and maintaining strong relationships, you help create successful long-term partnerships. You act as a senior representative of Entelect within customer environments, helping customers solve complex business challenges while ensuring they receive exceptional service and support
- You contribute to commercial discussions, support contract renewals, assist with resource planning, and identify opportunities to expand Entelect's footprint within customer organisations. Working closely with customers and internal stakeholders, you help balance customer success, delivery excellence, and commercial sustainability
- Taking overall responsibility for delivery across multiple teams
- Managing delivery risks, dependencies, priorities, resourcing, budgets, and customer expectations across projects
- Working closely with Team Leads to align delivery plans, remove obstacles, and maintain high standards of quality
- Providing oversight across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring milestones, deliverables, and key commitments remain on track
- Supporting long-term roadmap planning and aligning delivery objectives with customer and business priorities
- Navigating ambiguity, solving complex problems, and rapidly context switching across teams, projects, and customer priorities
- Working closely with multiple teams operationally to maintain alignment across delivery activities
- Building and shaping high-performing delivery teams, including onboarding, offboarding, team composition, and resource planning
- Coaching and mentoring Team Leads and team members, helping them grow their technical, leadership, communication, and problem-solving capabilities
- Conducting regular one-on-ones, feedback sessions, performance reviews, and career development conversations
- Strengthening team culture, cohesion, and identity to boosting moral and delivery
- Building strong relationships with customer stakeholders and acting as a trusted representative of Entelect
- Serving as a primary point of contact for customers, maintaining clear communication and managing expectations
- Facilitating customer feedback, resolving concerns, and proactively addressing risks before they become issues
- Working closely with customers to understand their business objectives and helping shape technology and delivery decisions
- Positioning Entelect as a trusted partner capable of solving complex business challenges
- Identifying opportunities to strengthen customer relationships and grow Entelect's presence within customer environments
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in the IT industry as an Analyst, Project Manager, Software Developer, or similar role, with experience in consulting environments
- 5+ years of experience leading and managing teams, including coaching, performance management, career development, and team culture
- Proven experience building trusted relationships with customers and senior stakeholders
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach and mentor Team Leads and support the growth of high-performing teams
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how delivery, customer success, and business objectives intersect
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively across technical, business, and executive audiences
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and create clarity for others
- Comfortable working across different environments, customers, tools, and domains
